CommitteesThe Texas Society for Hand Therapy has several ways for our members to get involved with our organization. One such way is by volunteering on a committee. These committees work to advance the field of hand therapy through education, research, communication, and legislative advocacy. Advocacy CommitteeCommittee Chair: VACANT The advocacy committee is responsible for educating and promoting the value of hand therapy to others throughout Texas. This committee is responsible for communicating with educators, philanthropic businesses, and legislators to share the message of the Texas Society for Hand Therapy. Each year, the advocacy committee helps coordinate "Day at the Capitol" in conjunction with the Texas Occupational Therapy Association.
Awareness CommitteeCommittee Chair: Jarrod Maddox, OTD, OTR, CHT Email: [email protected] The awareness committee is responsible for promoting the hand therapy profession for both our members and the general public. Each year, this committee plans events during Hand Therapy Week held the first week in June.
Communications CommitteeCommittee Co-Chair: Alex Nguyen, OTR, MOT, CHT Email: [email protected] The communications committee is responsible for promoting TSHT by creating content and sharing it across all of TSHT's social media platforms. They are also responsible for creating virtual and physical advertisements for the organization.
